Hey, thanks for finding these, they look great! Nice to see Petrova with the model aeroplane. I think that picture is the best ... Lucy looks very Posyish and Emma looks very Paulineish. I wonder who the girl in the blue dress in the other picture is.

I think Emma Watson looks younger than her age in these pictures. Amazing what hair and makeup and costumes can do.

I'll just add that EmmaWatsonOfficial.com has 17 new pictures ... I think only a couple are the same as the ones you posted Chewing-gum. Anyway, go check them out!

These are lovely. Goodness, so that's Gum! He seems probably the most different from the book description, or am I just thinking of the illustrations?

Madame Fidolia looks great, just like I imagine her.

Lucy Boynton as Posy looks exactly like in the book like that illustration at the top of the forum. Her hair looks really, really red though, almost unnaturally red. I gues it might just be the lighting. Loving seeing all these pics!

A couple of different pictures in the new BBC1 site gallery, though nothing really new.

yes the girls look the part, the make-up department had a big problem with petrova's hair it's very flyaway (Excuse the pun!) that's why its not cut into a bob, but they added the fringe.

Perhaps that's why it was looped up short in plaits a lot of the time then, to make it look shorter that way. I did like the fringe.

Couldn't they have found a better hair colour for Posy, though? It really looked like her hair was dyed all through the movie. The colour was nice enough, but not a natural shade of red at all.

I agree. I know some people have really dark red hair, but I've never seen a natural shade that dark. It looks fine in the promo pic at the top of this message board, with all the studio lighting on it, but without the studio lighting, it just looks too dark and too unnatural. A few shades lighter would've looked just fine.

I am not happy with how Petrova looks in the white dress at the top of the page; clearly she has had her chest bound flat, and in that second shot it looks dreadful. (I have had mine treated that way to play a child, and I know how it can get misshapen). That picture should not have been released.

Does this mean that they never play the three girls as children, but as teenagers? so they start their brilliant career at an age when they could have gone off to work anyway? it makes no sense. Silly BBC!

That picture does look rather strange but it may just be the angle that the material is sitting at, and the way the light is catching it. A bit of the frock seems to be bunching a bit below Petrova's left arm.

Does anyone else find it strange that the ages seem so varied in that ballet class? There were quite big girls at the back, and the smaller ones at the front. For some reason I always imagined the classes at the Academy in roughly age groups because of the young age at which most dancers begin.

I imagined it that way too. I don't know why they would have it that way. I take dance and the have classes for older kids and classes for younger kids. I don't see why they would mix them.
